How do I know the brakes need doing?
Noise is the usual first sign, but a soft pedal, a pull to one side or a vibration all point at the brakes. If you are not sure, bring it in and it gets checked rather than guessed at.
Do you replace pads and rotors together?
Only when the rotors actually need it. Sometimes pads alone are the right call and you will be told that rather than sold a full set.
